David's Camping Trip or "I Saw a Bear!"

David and his friends were camping a few weeks ago. In the morning a black bear visited their site and came close to entering the tent. They camped across the stream from the public campground. Apparently, the bear stayed about an hour and a half at the camp before leaving, holding 3 young men hostage in the tent. They said it was funny at first... The bear ate all their food and drinks.

I think that is David's head you see at the beginning peering out of the tent.

Dallas Simpson was the brave soul who captured the video on his cell phone. Very steady for a what must have been a frightening experience!

In response to the post right below this one...

[Sorry, I justed wanted my comment on the previous post to be on the front of the blog.]

CHECK THIS OUT! 230 MPG!! How can you beat that right now, in light of the oil price rise?!!?!?!!

Here's the link: http://www.aptera.com

Also, here's an intro video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hfv7wMXarig

Potential scenario: Live in NYC and decide you want to go to LA? Simply fill up your car with one tank full of gas and drive ALL THE WAY THERE on a tank of gas. No stops for gas (definitely for bathroom breaks though).

Let me know what you think!

Also, be sure and spread this news and company's website to people you know. They are now taking reservations for cars that they are producing. Also, I believe you only have to have a motorcycle license to drive it.

The major bad thing is that it is only being produced and sold in California (ahem, Becky!) but you could always buy one there and then drive it home.

Drill Here, Drill Now

If you want to help make a difference in the rising fuel prices, I suggest you check out American Solutions and sign the petition if you agree with what they are doing. I signed just before they reached the 1,000,000 mark last week.

From American Solutions web site:

"As gas prices continue to increase, Congress continues to blame others while ignoring practical steps to stop the pain Americans are feeling at the pump. To lower gasoline prices and reduce our dependence on foreign oil, we need real solutions to our energy challenges."

Long Time No Blog

It was brought to my attention that I have been slack in my duties of keeping my blog up to date. Tommy was right, and now that I have a new computer, there is no reason to delay any longer. There are several things to update in this blog that I will cover over the next couple of weeks or so. New computer, David transfering to UA Fort Smith, web conferencing, Russell's Summer internship opportunity and as always, God's blessings.

Starting with the fact that I have a new computer. I took my time and studied all the latest technology, found the right deal, and purchased our first computer in this millenium. Our trusty HP Pavilion has been going strong since 1999 with 533 Mhz processor, a maxed out 256 M of RAM, and a puny 20 Gb hard drive. We still use it today, or I should say Joni uses it, as I cannot bear the slowness any longer. And if Joni starts using my new Toshiba Satellite, she probably won't go back to it either!

Savant Artist Draws Panarama of Rome

You will like this drawing that took only 3 days for an autistic man named Stephen Wiltshire to draw after only seeing Rome from a 45 minute helicopter ride over the city.

My Wife God's Gift

Here's the picture I have as the wallpaper on my phone. Joni is my wife, my best friend and my soul mate. God made her for me and me for her. Thank you, God.
